SHARE THE HARVEST!
On Sunday, October 19, at 2:00 pm, some
members of Trinity, along with members from
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield,
met at the farm of Minor Garrelts to
celebrate our first year's efforts with our
"Share the Harvest"
project for the
Foods Resource Bank.
With approximately 70 people in attendance,
Pastor Greg and Dave Polland began the event
with a “Service of Thankfulness” for the pending harvest. Combining then followed with rides given to anyone
interested. There were goats and a calf for the children
to play with, and members from the two churches had an
opportunity to get to know each other through this
joint effort. Upon completion of our first harvest,
a meal was shared by all in attendance providing
a great finish to our first year participating
in this worthwhile project.
